About Coton De Tulears:
Coton De Tulears are very devoted to its master, the Coton always wants to be in their presence and tries its best to please. The Coton de Tulear is a relative to the Bichon-type dogs and the Italian Bolognese. There are a couple of theories about its arrival in Madagascar: arriving with French troops, or from a shipwreck off of the island. It was used mainly as a companion dog in the Tulear region of Madagascar. It dates back to the 1600's, but it wasn't until the 70's and 80's that it really became known in Europe and North America.
Care and Exercise:
Its long coat requires periodic grooming. Needs little exercise and is thus a highly suitable breed for apartment life.
Recommended Households:
This attentive, charming breed is exceptionally good with children. It is intelligent and cheerful, and has a stylish appearance and confident manner. The Coton De Tulear is an excellent city pet for an owner.
