Choosing a Bird
What are the best birds to have as pets? The answer to that question may be different for every customer. When you come to Uncle Bill’s to buy a Conure, a Cockatiel, or any of our available birds, we can help you decide which animal is best for you, based on a number of considerations, such as:

Personality – Different bird breeds have different personalities. Canaries, for example, tend to be independent, and comfortable being alone, whereas Parakeets (also called Budgies) need regular social interaction with their owners or with other birds.

Lifespan – Customers looking to buy a Parrot should be prepared for a lifelong commitment – Parrots can live for 50 years or more in captivity. Generally, the lifespan of pet birds correlates with size – Finches and Canaries have shorter lifespans than Parrots, but even so, they may live up to 10 years (or longer).

Care/housing – Even tiny Finches need a roomy cage, and a Parrot’s cage should be at least 4 feet tall. Cages housing larger birds, or several birds, will need to be cleaned frequently.
