Care and Exercise:
Coat should be groomed twice a week for best coat. Some professional trimming is necessary to keep hair on head properly clipped, and to cut hair on neck and shoulders. Although breed is highly suited to city life, dogs need plenty of exercise. May be hard to housebreak. Should not get fat.
Recommended Households:
A delightful, handsome pet, the Cocker Spaniel is exceptionally good with children, is obedient, and is generally even-tempered. At one time, the tremendous demand for this breed made the Cocker a victim of careless, puppy-mill breeding, resulting in some high- strung, noisy dogs, as well as unhealthy animals. This breed must be purchased with great caution, from only the most reputable breeders.
