Facts and Information

Also known as the Black-backed Wrasse or the New Guinea Wrasse (as the species name "neoguinaicus" alludes to), this fish is common in the waters of the Solomon Islands, as well as New Guinea and the Great Barrier Reef. They typically require plenty of space to swim, live rock, and sandy substrate. While they tend to be helpful in removing unwanted pests in the tank, they can also consume larger or ornamental invertebrates and crustaceans.
