A beautiful little goby known that frequents shallow waters in lagoon areas. Like the Dragonets, this goby feeds on small worms like nematodes and polychaetes, small crustaceans and soft algae by sifting through mouthfuls of sand. Banded gobies fair best in reef aquaria with "live" sand and live rock where natural food items have developed. Dry and prepared foods may not be taken at first, but offerings of small live foods like brine shrimp and blackworms are rarely refused.
