Facts and Information
This fish, often referred to as the Cyan Damsel (Latin meaning=blue) is a harem fish, with one male overseeing several females. Keeping several males together often results in never ending bouts over territory. These fish fair best when several females (3 or more) are kept with one male. When this damselfish isn't squabbling over territory between the branches of coral, its feeding on plankton close to the bottom of the lagoons and sheltered reef areas it inhabits. Blue Damselfish gather around coral rubble areas and feed on plankton, free-floating tunicates and copepods. Very common and widely available in the aquarium hobby.
