This is one of the most well known "community" aquarium fish; most people that have had an aquarium have kept Silver dollars at one time or another. Generally they are bought as 1-1.5" juveniles and quickly grow to four to six inches. They are hardy and long lived and have a voracious appetite for anything that hits the water.
