Facts and Information
One of the first tropical fish ever exported for use in aquariums. The Rosy Barb is a common cyprinid in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Male Rosy Barbs are the most colorful with shimmering metallic bodies. Females have the metallic sheen as well, but lack the warm, rosy coloring of the males. Rosy barbs are hardy, undemanding and very popular with aquarists the world over. In the wild, small insects and aquatic worms are the preferred fair, but they will feed on plant matter and algae as well.
