Facts and Information
This species is seen occasionally in the aquarium hobby and is one of the more popular species. The Panda Cory is one of the smaller species, growing to just over an inch. It was originally collected from the Amazons region in Brazil and is also referred to as a Peppered Corydoras in the aquarium hobby. Like all Cory Cats, they thrive in the company of other Cory Cats, schooling about the tank in search of morsels of food. In the wild, they can be found swimming in the fast moving riffles of river water as well as in the calmer waters that collect in pools after the rapids.
