Black Skirt Tetra

Facts and Information

This species is also known as the Black Widow Tetra.  It does well in cooler temperatures of 70 to 74 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as the usual temperatures for tropical fish of above 76 degrees, but less than eighty degrees Fahrenheit.  There are no color differences between males and females, but females are a little larger and have a much plumper abdomen when mature.  The dorsal fin on males is also larger and more developed that the female's dorsal fin.
