Facts and Information
Also called a Lemon Cichlid, its colors are best when fed a steady diet of live foods like Daphnia and Blackworms. Originally imported from Lake Tanganykia, the Leleupi has now been bred by hobbyist and commercial aquaculture facilities and is widely available. They like to be afforded shelter either by a few rocks piled together forming a cave, the base of a flower pot turned upside down, or some slate stacked together. Captive bred specimens raised on dry foods lack the brilliant intense yellow of the wild caught specimens.
