Blue-Acara-Cichlid

This fish's scientific name (Aequidens pulcher) means "lovely one with even teeth." Males and females have bright metallic blue-green lines on the face. Males take on the brilliant blue coloration during breeding season. Can be found all over north and central South America, but its primary natural habitat is the Catatumbo River.
