The Burmese Border loach, angelicus loach or polka dot loach is splendidly patterned loach from Southeast Asia. This species is mostly found in Thailand and Myanmar. Loaches prefer areas with plenty of nooks and crannies to dart in and out of, like streams littered with larger pebbles. Loaches are prone to jumping from the aquarium, so be sure to keep it tightly covered. The genus name "Botia" is from a local Asian word meaning "warrior" or "soldier".
