ANIMAL CARE & MAINTENANCE/PET TECHNICIAN
Uncle Bill’s is currently seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate pet lovers to help provide care for a variety of animals and maintain their temporary homes in our stores. We are in search of full-time motivated, reliable individuals to help clean/bathe, feed, medicate when necessary, and compassionately and mindfully care for the pets in each of our business locations. Your work adds value through giving the proper attention and care for the pets about to find their forever homes in our stores and maintaining their habitats for optimal health and happiness. Upkeep and cleanliness of the general maintenance area is imperative as well. The employee in this role will act as primary resource for ensuring the proper care and wellbeing of each animal under their responsibility/supervision. One will also receive direction from company animal specialists and/or veterinarians and must be able to pay close attention and adhere to any instructions or standards for pet care provided. Previous animal care/husbandry knowledge is a plus, but being comfortable handling and interacting with a wide range of animals is essential.
• Prior experience caring for animals preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and an organized, detail-oriented nature.
• Flexibility with scheduling as work hours will vary and be based on business/animals’ needs.
• Willing to roll up your sleeves and take initiative with strong work ethic, ability to claim ownership, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
• Work well independently with minimal supervision in a bustling, ever-changing setting.
• Self-motivated, reliable, able to work in a team atmosphere.
• Weekends and flexible schedule a must.
• Reliable transportation needed.
• Physical demands may include: occasional lifting of objects up to 40 lbs.; long durations of standing, stooping, and/or moving about; may be exposed to moderate noise levels; and potential exposure to allergens.
